David Schmitz, accompanist for Bravo and PCC music theory instructor, is a
native Phoenix pianist and music teacher. Having studied under Dr. Judy Lively and
Christi Bandelin, he holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, summa cum
laude & Ray-Maben scholar, from Grand Canyon University, class of 2005. He has
presided over keyboard studies at Central High School since 2008, during which
time he earned a Master's in Secondary Education (2010). During his tenure, he
has, in conjunction with Phoenix College, helped to facilitate the launch of an
annual piano festival for high-school piano students in the metro Phoenix area.  In
addition to educating the Valley's upcoming piano virtuosos, he has accompanied
numerous theatrical, choral, and instrumental productions, such as the Arizona
All-State Jazz Honor Choir (2010), Arizona Christian University's production of
"The Scarlet Pimpernel," (2008) and "Oh, What a Lovely War," produced by Grand
Canyon University (2003). Mr. Schmitz enjoys performing music with his talented
wife Erin, a professional vocalist and musicologist. Mr. Schmitz joined the
Phoenix Children's Chorus organization in 2011.
